•Shelby County Christian Women’s Connection Guest Day

November 14 // Riverchase Country Club

Everyone is invited to celebrate the season at “A Taste of the Holidays” event hosted by the Shelby County Christian Women’s Connection at 11 a.m. This special Guest Day will feature chef demonstrations of holiday dishes, inspiration from speaker Deedy Tripp from Georgia and holiday decorations available for purchase. Round up the girls and head to Whiskers & Wags Pet Boutique, Southern Roots and The Liv-N-Room at 16618 Highway 280 in Chelsea from 5-8 p.m. for a Girls’ Night Out featuring a silent auction benefiting Shelby Safe Pet with art by Chris Cruz Designs. Different wines from Chelsea-based Cat-N-Bird Winery will be served. Each store will have specials throughout the night, and they’re all located just a few steps apart.

•Blood Rock Trail Races

November 22-24 // Oak Mountain State Park

Runners, are you up for the challenge? The 2019 Blood Rock 50K and 100K Mile Trail Race promises to be as physically demanding as it is scenic. The 100K will include more than 50,000 feet of elevation change, while the 50K will cover 25,000 feet. The race starts Nov. 22 at 12 p.m. and lasts until Nov. 24 at 8 a.m. The Blood Rock 25K and 50K course races will start Nov. 23 at 8 a.m. and end Nov. 24 at 8 a.m. Visit Alapark.com/events/oak-mountain-state-park for all the details.
