How We Met

We met in our high school math class in 2017. Nick was a junior, and I (Callen) was a senior. We had not paid any attention to each other all year up until our friend groups started to merge in March of that year. We quickly hit it off, and the rest is history!

The Proposal

Instead of Christmas gifts, we go out to a nice dinner to simply celebrate our relationship. I knew Nick had made reservations for a restaurant in downtown Birmingham, but he would not tell me exactly where. Nick had parked near Railroad Park and led me to a spot he had planned to propose. It was very sweet and intimate. After the proposal, we were able to celebrate our dinner and engagement together, just the two of us!

The Dress

I knew the moment I put this dress on that I was going to be walking down the aisle in it! It was simple, yet elegant and classy—silk with buttons all the way down the back. I added a simple beaded belt that gave it just the little bling it needed. The train of the dress was long and dramatic—my favorite part.

Favorite Moment

After the ceremony, we had just finished taking all of our pictures, and everyone had already walked over to the reception. Nick and I had a moment to just sit and take in the ceremony and each other and the fact that we were finally married. Nick prayed over us and for our marriage. It was a very simple and sweet moment, but a moment I will never forget.

Favorite Details

I had sent my florists some pictures of colors and ideas I had seen that I liked, but I told her that I trusted her and let her work her magic. They turned out beautifully and better than I could have ever imagined.
