3. WILDCAT 5K

Shelby County High School
The Shelby County High School soccer program will host its second annual 5K on Saturday, May 4 at 9 a.m. The race will start at the school. The program is partnering with King’s Home to host a canned food drive at the school the week prior to the race, and runners will bring canned food items the day of the race. This year’s 5K is sponsored by Taziki’s Mediterranean Café. Register at Active.com.

4.  WESTOVER DAY IN THE PARK

The first Westover Day in the Park will be held from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Saturday, May 4. The free, community festival will include music, vendors, food, children’s activities and more. For more information, visit WestoverAlabama.org. Vendors should call 678-3375 ext. 1 for more information.

5. 2019 REGIONS TRADITION GOLF TOURNAMENT

Greystone Golf and Country Club
Golf greats and celebrities will take to the greens of Greystone for this official major championship on the PGA Tour Champions. All the details, including ticket and sponsorship information, are available at Regionstradition.com.

6. BUCK CREEK FESTIVAL
May 10+11
Good music, good food and the customary duck race along Buck Creek will make for an unforgettable weekend for local families. The 2019 Buck Creek Festival in Helena kicks off at 6 p.m. on Friday, May 10, and continues at 10 a.m. on Saturday, May 11. More details can be found at buckcreekfestival.com.

7. ORA L. JONES MEMORIAL 5K RUN AND WALK

The 4th annual Ora L. Jones Memorial 5K Run/Walk will be held on May 11 at 8 a.m. at Orr Park in Montevallo. Early bird registration is $15 prior to April 19 and includes race/signup fee and T-shirt. Late registration is $20 and includes race/signup fee (and T-shirt while supplies last only). All funds raised will go to the Ora L. Jones Foundation Scholarship Fund. 8. PLANT AND GARDEN CRAFT SALE

The Fine Arts Club of Wilsonville will hold its 13th annual Plant and Garden Craft Sale on May 11 (rain date is May 18) from 8 a.m.-2 p.m. at the corner of Highway 25 and Highway 61 in Wilsonville. The sale will feature fruit trees, shade trees, rose bushes, shrubs, perennials, garden and craft items, homemade baked goods and more. Proceeds will benefit the Wilsonville Fire Department.

9. WELBY RASCO MEMORIAL GOLF TOURNAMENT

The Welby Rasco Memorial Golf Tournament to benefit South Shelby Lodge #140 will be held on May 11 (rain date: May 18) at Magnolia Meadows Golf Course in Columbiana. 10. PALOOZA IN THE PARK

Get out of the house and go to the fifth annual Pelham Palooza, Palooza in the Park. Live music with the M-80s, vendors and food trucks are part of the festivities, along with a “kidzapalooza,” balloon artist, bull riding, bungee trampoline, fire trucks, vintage car show and the event’s first-ever juried art and craft show.
