The Patch at Griffin Farms
Every weekend in October

Griffin Farms of Helena
Griffin Farms presents The Patch, Helena’s very own pumpkin patch. Admission is $10 and includes a hayride and pumpkin, tire mountain, rope climbs and tire swings, hay maze and obstacles, petting zoo access, land slides, corn barn and silo playhouses. Live music every weekend. Additional activities are pony rides, bouncy house, trampoline bungee jump, craft vendors and food trucks and choo-choo train rides. This free music event is sure to delight audiences young and old. Magic City Smooth Jazz is the non-profit organization that brings in the national jazz talent, the staging, the sound and the lights.

Helena Miracle League Golf Tournament
Oct. 9

Timberline Golf Club, Calera
The Helena Miracle League is searching for players and sponsors to participate in its inaugural golf tournament. Proceeds will benefit the League’s future custom baseball field for children and adults with disabilities. For more information, visit Facebook.com/HMLAngels/.

Owls in the Oaks

Oak Mountain State Park
Flock to the park and learn about its feathered fall favorites at Owls in the Oaks. First, visit the Alabama Wildlife Center to learn how to identify owl calls, potential owl habitats and review their neat characteristics. Next, meet the AWC’s resident owls. Then, you’ll head off into the woods on a guided hike to see if you can locate and identify these owls in their natural habitat. The event is free except park entry fee.
